                                                       The Actress by Peter Quilter

A love letter to the stage, wrapped in elegance and illuminated by the glow of a life lived in performance. Witty, moving, and rich with theatrical charm, this is a story that invites you not just to watch, but to be part of it.

The Actress is a bittersweet comedy about a successful mature actress, Lydia, who has decided to retire at the peak of her career and move to Switzerland with her successful banker fiancé to enjoy a slower existence.

Her daughter and ex-husband are not convinced that she is making the right decision and her agent is completely beside herself with the pending loss of her most lucrative client.

Set mostly in Lydia’s dressing room on closing night of her farewell performance of The Orchard, the emotional and physical chaos of backstage theatre sets the tone for this comedic yet poignant play.
